TRAPPED IN THE WIZARD'S HOURGLASS

Time is running out. Get to the end before the timer flips.

A retro rogue like dungeon crawl, with over 20 classes to choose from. 

Goal: get to the end of the cave before the timer resets. Each loop, attempt to amass items, kill foes, and unlock doors to progress. Heal at the bonfire.

Quick overview

You woke up inside a giant hourglass (thanks, wizard). Time loops, sand falls and only your wits keep you from being buried. Each move uses time and each monster will act after you, so watch the combat log with B. When the glass flips you drop all your gear and get teleported back to the start ; enemies you defeated stay down, so each loop gives you a small advantage. 


Failing the run? Try changing to one of the many classes and picking up new items - all will modify your stats.

Press 'B' to view your characters stats, items, and the combat log for a richer picture. 

Vitality
How many hits you can tank before the sand swallows you.

Attack Power
How much damage you deal.

Defence
Armour that soaks 'normal' blows first.

Elemental Res.
'magic' damage hits this first(special damage still lands).

Mana
Extra actions before time runs out.

Agility
Faster moves and lower movement cost,  .

Stamina
Chance to survive a fatal hit and recover a bit.

Perception
Chance for enemies to drop what they're holding after being hits.

Carry Weight
How much you can carry  .

Charisma
Sometimes causes incoming attacks to miss.

Faith
Occasional upgrade to 'magic' and 'special' strikes.

Controls

  • W A S D Move
  • Q Attack
  • B Inventory, combat log and stats
  • E + number Drop that item (1-9 in the order you picked them up)
  • R Reset the run
  • Walk into items to pickup.

Install instructions

Download the .exe file and run locally or use HTML in the browser. The HTML version is quite slow so you may either need to grin and bear it or download the .exe.
